G20 youth workshop for Flinders

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the G20 2020 Saudi Arabia Group is presenting a series of cultural events this year, including workshops targeting Saudi youth and other students at Australian Universities who hail from countries participating in G20.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Canberra is helping the Saudi Students Association at Flinders University to run one of these workshops, acknowledging that Saudi Arabia is serving as this year’s G20 leader, whose other member nations are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

The workshop will be held in the Studio at Bedford Park Campus on 29 October from 11am to 1pm, with 14 students – 7 Saudi and 7 from other G20 participating countries.

Reem Alothmany, Vice President of the Saudi Students Association, says the workshop aims to discuss several topics that are of interest to the G20 group this year, including future skills, workplace opportunities and entrepreneurship; youth empowerment to produce agile, dynamic leaders in a changing world; inclusive decision making and global concerns of multiculturalism and sustainable development. At the conclusion of this workshop, a summary of an agreed vision from the participants will be submitted to the Y20 youth group.
