The Art Museum continues to host Testing Ground at the Flinders University City Gallery, located in the State Library of South Australia, until 4 May. The exhibition won the Adelaide Fringe Award for the Best Visual Art and Design.

Testing Ground is a Salamanca Arts Centre exhibition toured by Contemporary Art Tasmania and curated by Indigenous writer and artist Julie Gough. The exhibition aims to destabilise populist expectations about culture, nature and place. A veritable laboratory, it comprises work by 14 artists of diverse national and international backgrounds who are literally ‘testing’ new ideas, new forms and new ways of working. It includes large and small scale sculpted objects, installations, photographs and new media. The works offer unexpected insights into inheritance, cultural practice and co-existence.

The artists include: Sue Kneebone, 1491s, Ólöf Björnsdóttir, Trudi Brinckman, Darren Cook, Rebecca Dagnall, Nancy Mauro-Flude, Jeroen Offerman, Perdita Phillips, r e a, Keren Ruki, Christian Thompson, Martin Walch and Siying Zhou.
