The University’s current Records Management Policy has been comprehensively reviewed and a new Records and Information Management Policy has been developed along with standards that support the implementation of the policy principles.
While the underlying concepts of records and information management remain unchanged, the new policy uses updated language and adopts the five principles from the State Records of South Australia Information Management Strategy and Standards. The policy also includes new sections to cover the digitisation and disposal of hardcopy information assets and mandates minimum metadata elements for business systems.
You can view the draft policy in the Flinders Policy Library.
The following new standards will provide additional clarity in support of the policy principles:
- Records and Information Management Standard
- Information Asset Digitisation and Preservation Standard
- Information Asset Metadata Standard
Feedback on the proposed policy and standards is sought and can be sent to policy@flinders.edu.au by close of business Friday 21 March 2025.
