Following a review, the University Council has approved amendments to the External Entities Policy.  The policy is now available in the Policy Library, under the Governance and Risk category.

A key change in the updated policy is that University membership in any incorporated industry or professional body now requires prior approval. This does not apply to individual staff joining industry bodies, professional associations and the like in a personal capacity, nor does it apply to partnerships, collaborations or joint ventures.

This change is part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and ensure appropriate oversight of the its membership and shareholdings and better manage associated risks.

All staff are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated policy and consider how it may apply to their work.
