The award-winning fibre-optic catheter designed by biomedical engineer Professor John Arkwright (pictured) and Associate Professor Phil Dinning (FMC) was the subject of a story in the Sydney Morning Herald. Palaeontologist Professor John Long commented in the Age on plans to extend a Victorian yacht club that would threaten a major fossil site. In an Advertiser article, the Dean of Education, Professor David Giles, stressed the need for flexibility in his response  to a State Government proposal to introduce masters degrees for all teaching students .
