REST module available – Thesis Writing
Monday 4 March
The next module in the new REST Canvas site is now available. The Thesis Writing Module steps you through the requirements and process of thesis writing, providing clarity on style, structure and content.
A thesis is the body of work that you produce during your candidature that will be examined. It is a document that brings your research together, outlining your research questions, methodology, data collection and analysis as well as your research findings. It is much more detailed than a research article. It needs signposting throughout that emphasises your contributions to knowledge. These contributions could include improved or novel methods or protocols, novel data, and/or novel interpretations. This module steps you through the unique genre of thesis writing, presenting a number of useful tools and resources to support you throughout.

We are happy to share that the next module in the new REST Canvas site is available. The Research Communication module introduces researchers to effective communication methods and strategies.
Effective research communication serves as a bridge between the scientific community and the general public, fostering understanding and appreciation for the discoveries that shape our world. By disseminating findings through various channels such as publications, conferences, and media platforms, researchers not only share their insights but also inspire curiosity and critical thinking among diverse audiences. This module provides you with online courses on effective communication strategies and methods, as well as information on resources and opportunities to help you develop your communication skill and disseminate your research effectively.

Monday 25 March
We are happy to share that the next module in the new REST FLO (Canvas) site is available. The Teamwork and Collaboration module introduces you to a number of strategies to get the most out of working with others.
Teamwork and collaboration are essential components of successful research endeavours, enabling researchers to leverage collective expertise and resources to address complex challenges and advance scientific knowledge. One of the most important ways you will collaborate and work in teams is by working with your supervisors on your research project. The Teamwork and Collaboration module includes five online Epigeum activities on working with your supervisors, including how to get started and plan for meetings, how to build positive relationships, making the most of feedback and coping with challenges. The module also lists a number of useful online courses, workshops and videos that you can review.
