Registrations for the 2024 Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) Research Week are now open.
Held from 16-20 September 2024, Research Week at SALHN provides an opportunity to hear about the important research being undertaken by talented health and medical research teams from across across SALHN and Flinders University. With a packed schedule including keynote sessions with national and international experts and networking opportunity, don’t miss this important event on the research calendar.
Highlights include
- An opening Flinders precinct session with a keynote presentation from Di Dixon, Lot Fourteen State Lead, and launch of the Flinders Partnership Strategy.
- Presentations from successful NHMRC and MRFF Grant Winners from the precinct on topics such as “Escape the Vape”, “Co-design of a diabetes and metabolic syndrome intervention with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples” and “A ‘culturally tailored iSupport model’ for carers of people with dementia”.
- Continuous Improvement: Towards Zero Ramping session with a livestreamed keynote from international Healthcare Quality expert Professor Brent James, Clinical Professor, Dept of Medicine, Stanford University.
- Nursing and Midwifery Research Symposium with Professor Sandy Middleton, Professor of Nursing, and Director of the Nursing Research Institute at St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Australian Catholic University, and world leading nursing researcher.
- Professor Steve Wesselingh, CEO, NHMRC, to discuss the national grant landscape.
- Local world-renowned experts Professor Jamie Craig, discussing eye research, and Professor Steve Stranks talking all things Ozempic and Diabetes.
- A celebration day on Friday 20 September, celebrating all things Enquiry Grants, including a pizza lunch!
