How Libraries (and Other Social Infrastructure Spaces) Will Save Us: 2023 Fulbright

Professor Daniel P. Aldrich’s 2023 Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Political Science is now available.

Professor Daniel P. Aldrich’s Fulbright Flinders University Lecture paper is now available to download. Professor Aldrich’s paper is titled ‘How Libraries (and Other Social Infrastructure Spaces) Will Save Us: The Critical Role of Social Infrastructure in Democratic Resilience‘.

Director of the Jeff Bleich Centre, Associate Professor Rodrigo Praino described the Professor Aldrich’s work as a “beacon of hope in a world increasingly marred by misinformation and polarization.”

Vice Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling, reflecting on Professor Aldrich’s work stated that ‘in an era characterized by misinformation and division, Professor Aldrich’s research sheds light on a path forward.’

Professor Aldrich’s work is the 8th arising from the Fulbright-Flinders University relationship. Flinders University is proud to continue hosting the Fulbright Distinguished Chair. Information about the Fulbright Distinguished Chair can be found on the Fulbright Website.


Professor Daniel P. Aldrich

An award winning author, Aldrich has published five books including Building Resilience and Black Wave, more than 90 peer-reviewed articles, and written op-eds for the New York Times, CNN, HuffPost, and many other media outlets. He has spent more than 5 years in India, Japan, and Africa carrying out fieldwork and his work has been funded by the Fulbright Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the Abe Foundation, the Rasmussen Foundation, and the Japan Foundation, among other institutions.
