What is it?
Flinders University is delighted to invite abstracts for their inaugural health and medical research symposium brought to you by Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI), Caring Futures Institute (CFI), Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing (FIMHWell) and the Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI).
Theme:
“Collaboration & Partnership” – focused on health and medical research and can be with other institutes, universities, consumers or communities, or government/industry partners.
When and where?
Come along and present your work at a full day symposium!
- Date: Tuesday, 24th February 2026
- Time: 9.20am to 6pm (with networking drinks/canapes from 5pm)
- Location: Flinders Health and Medical Research Building (HMRB), Bedford Park.
How to submit your abstract:
Complete the short form and submit a 150 word abstract of your collaborative research. Projects can be of any study design, and at any stage – development, in progress, complete. Early and mid-career researchers and Higher Degree by Research students are particularly encouraged to present their work. There are two types of presentations available: 10-minute oral presentation and 3 minute “rapid fire” sessions. Please note all abstracts must be submitted by Flinders staff from either FHMRI, CFI, FIMHWell and the MDRI.
Awards
There will be awards for Best Early Career Researcher (ECR) presentation, Best Mid-Career Researcher (MCR) presentation and Best Higher Degree Researcher (HDR) presentation.

Come along and enjoy the day, which will showcase the breadth and depth of health and medical research at Flinders University, include keynote presentations, a panel discussion, and many opportunities for social networking and meeting potential collaborators.
