New online research project certification process

On 23 July 2018 the College of Medicine and Public Health will be able to initiate online research project certification requests. This new process has been tried and tested by the Colleges of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Nursing and Health Sciences with very encouraging results.

The benefits are:
· Consistent and automated workflow eliminating physical signatures – no more pushing and chasing forms from one desk to another!
· Simple online, mobile friendly form gathering the right amount of information
· Visibility to track the request status
· Information provided to the right people at the right time
· Improved reporting and governance

What you need to know:
· Research project certification requests can be made using the new online form found in the ‘actions’ tab of your FlindersPro page. You can also access FlindersPro from your Okta dashboard (preferred browser – Chrome)
· Non-research certifications will continue via the current process
· Online approval process whereby all involved can view the progress of the request at any time
· Notifications will be sent to co-applicants and their Dean (Research) & Dean (People and Resources), eliminating the need for physical or electronic signatures

The new approval workflow is as follows:

Where can I go for support?
Support is available online and also via your college research support staff:
Lee-Ann Thomas – leeann.thomas@flinders.edu.au
Suzanne Atkins – suzanne.atkins@flinders.edu.au
Rebecca Cook – rebecca.cook@flinders.edu.au

Access to the online form and support information is available. View the FlindersPro webpage for information regarding FlindersPro and a step by step user guide.

This will be big step forward in reducing paperwork and time spent chasing approvals. Please share any feedback with your college research support staff.
