CMPH Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Implementation Group – Expressions of Interest by 1 September 2020

The Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is part of the University’s ongoing work to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation, retention and success in higher education and commits to celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander success and self-determination. The RAP provides a critical framework for the Flinders University Community to commit to reconciliation as part of everyday practice, and acknowledge the vital role it plays in building understanding and acceptance of our shared histories, and in working towards a shared future. The strategies in the Innovate RAP aim to directly contribute to:

  • Increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation, retention, and success in higher education
  • Increasing levels of economic and social participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities
  • Increasing cultural competence for all staff and students.

This is a whole of University responsibility.

To further this commitment, the College will establish a RAP Implementation Group and seeks Expressions of Interest from staff interested in membership of this group. The Group will focus on implementation and monitoring of College initiatives and strategies directly linked to the eleven action areas within the RAP. The Group will be co-chaired by Professor Jonathan Craig and Dr Maree Meredith, with membership inclusive of all College Deans, and will meet between 4 – 6 times each year.

Staff interested in membership of the Implementation Group should submit an EOI by 1 September 2020 to laura.spencer@flinders.edu.au and include one to two paragraphs outlining their interest and commitment to the RAP.

The Implementation Group will convene its first meeting before the end of September. Please contact Laura if you would like any further information.
