Get to know your College: Nadia Jaksic

What is your role and what does your work focus on?

As a member of the CMPH Operations team, my role is College Support Officer, Rural and Remote Health – where I primarily support Professor Robyn Aitken, Dean Rural and Remote Health, and assist in CMPH & RRH Operations. I work between the Renmark and Bedford Park campuses.

Where did you work before joining CMPH?

My last position was with BSN medical Australia, as EA to the Managing Director

What journey brought you to this point in your career?

In early 2018, I made the decision to move back to my hometown – Loxton SA, to be closer to my family after many years of living away in Melbourne. The opportunity presented in March 2018 to join Flinders University when I commenced in the role to support the Director for Rural Health SA at the Riverland campus.

What is something you love most about your work?

Being a part of a wonderful team, and having the unique mix to work with colleagues across rural and remote SA, NT and Bedford Park, and the connections I have made along the way.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

To live in the moment – and not dwell on the past or worry about the future.

If you had a super power what would it be?

To fly – and be able to travel and see the world!

How do you like to relax or spend your spare time?

Big outdoor walks along the beach/river, being out in nature, listening to music, sitting down to a good movie or trying out new recipes
