Flinders researchers engaging with the community to cure cancer

This week College of Medicine and Public Health researchers (left to right) Prof Briony Forbes, Dr Ashley Hopkins, Prof Chris Karapetis, A/Prof Andrew Rowland and Dr Zivile Useckaite took part in the annual Tour de Cure SA Discovery tour, contributing to raising more than $500,000 to support projects funded through Flinders Foundation and UniSA to support people living with cancer.

The team from Flinders were among 96 riders who took part in the three-day event riding more than 350km and visiting schools throughout the Barossa Valley to promote the “Be Fit, Be Healthy, be Happy” campaign.

Tour de Cure is a fantastic opportunity to build networks with consumers and the community, build comradery within your team and give back to fabulous community groups and charities including Flinders Foundation that do so much to support the College.

If you’re interested in signing up yourself or your team for next year contact Ross Verschoor at Flinders Foundation early to get linked into the supportive network of training events that will get even a novice rider ready to cruise through the 2024 ride!
