Get to know your College: Oli Dubsky

 

What is your role and what does your work focus on?

I recently joined Flinders University as a Marketing and Communications Officer for Rural & Remote Health in the Northern Territory under the College of Medicine and Public Health (CMPH). In this role, my focus is on highlighting the impactful activities of Flinders staff, researchers, alumni, and students on the ground across the NT.

Where did you work before joining CMPH?

Prior to joining CMPH, I worked for RMIT University. Over the span of my career, I gained experience in the Education, Arts, and International Business sectors, contributing to my diverse professional background.

What journey brought you to this point in your career?

My career journey has been shaped by my passion for marketing, international affairs, and behavioral economics. I’ve always been curious and open to new challenges, believing that pushing boundaries is key to personal and professional growth. This mindset has guided me through roles in various sectors, ultimately leading me to Flinders University and CMPH.

What is something you love most about your line of work?

What I love most about my work is the opportunity to showcase and amplify the fantastic and vital activities happening in rural and remote health. Being able to contribute to the visibility of impactful work conducted by Flinders staff, researchers, alumni, and students is incredibly fulfilling.

How do you like to relax or spend your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy living a healthy and active life. I’m passionate about sports, particularly football (or soccer) and ice hockey. Additionally, I find relaxation in the world of alternative music across all genres and arthouse movies. Living in Darwin with my wife Lydia and our two little daughters, Alba and Danica, brings me joy and provides a wonderful balance to my professional life.
