The South Australia Rural Medical (SARM) Program team met on July 3 for a two-day planning session focused on reviewing progress and outlining priorities for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026. The meeting brought together academic and professional staff to reflect on Semester 1 and prepare for Semester 2.

Discussions covered recent achievements, ongoing challenges, and key areas for development. A detailed week-by-week review of the curriculum helped identify gaps in content and delivery. Adjustments were made to clinical encounters, Team-Based Learning (TBL) structures, and group allocations.

The team also addressed the use of FLO Canvas, SARM-specific SET feedback, and attendance tracking. Planning incorporated community engagement activities and upcoming events such as Open Day and student programming through FUSA and FMSS.

A focused session clarified academic roles and examined student communication processes. Planning continued around Year 2, with attention to staffing, placement logistics, and program capacity.

With strong momentum and a shared vision, the SARM team is steering the program toward innovative education and deeper community impact.
