UTAS Rural Clinical School visit Riverland and Renmark Campus

Professor Lizzi Shires (Director Rural Clinical School University of Tasmania (UTAS) and Dr Ben Dodds (rural GP and UTAS RCS student Coordinator) visited the Flinders Renmark campus this week to meet SARM Program staff, students and learn about the program.

During their visit, Assoc Prof James Padley gave them a tour of facilities including the newly accredited anatomy lab. They met staff and SARM Program students and were able to observe clinical skills activities.

Professor Shires enjoyed the opportunity to speak to students about their learning journeys and studying medicine in a rural area.

Prof Shires and Dr Dodds also visited Riverland General Hospital and met with rural doctors and leaders in the Riverland Academy of Clinical Excellence (RACE) Program.

This visit signifies the commitment to an ongoing collaboration between Flinders and the University of Tasmania Rural Clinical School in developing end to end rural medical education and training pathways.
