Preparations are underway in Associate Professor Jamie Quinton’s XPS laboratory in anticipation of the arrival of our new PHI 710 Scanning Auger Nanoprobe. Thanks to Alex, Ruby and the team from the TSU, the Leybold LHS-11 XPS system has been repositioned within the laboratory and is being recommissioned in its new location. The Auger Nanoprobe will be capable of elemental imaging at 10nm spatial resolution, as well as perform spectroscopic characterisation and depth-profiling of surfaces.
