Call for research projects for Advanced Studies students

Do you have a research project suitable for an MD student?

We are now calling for research projects to offer to our current Year 1 MD students, who will commence their research in 2024.

You and your colleagues can either offer a research project (or multiple projects) by completing the attached project proforma, or be listed as potential supervisors for students to contact to collaboratively develop a research proposal.

The submission deadline for project proposals is Monday 29th May 2023.

More about Advanced Studies

Advanced Studies is a research and scholarship theme that is integrated across the four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD). This theme within the MD program aims to provide Flinders MD graduates with a solid understanding of medical research and scholarship. More broadly, Advanced Studies seeks to enhance the quality of medical care by producing doctors who are both knowledgeable and skilful, with an understanding of self-regulated learning, and a broad perspective of the art and science of medicine that facilitates leadership and advocacy for the benefit of the community.

Two pathways are available to students in Advanced Studies – research and coursework. For research students, Advanced Studies provides an opportunity to develop practical research skills under the guidance of a research supervisor. For coursework students, Advanced Studies can offer a pathway towards a Graduate Certificate in a chosen area related to health and medicine.

Please feel free to contact the Advanced Studies team if you have any questions or if you would like to discuss your research project ideas.
