RED Alert – brought to you by Honours Community of Practice

Looking forward >

Honours students have a busy month ahead! With their Research Grant Proposal assessment submitted, they can now direct their full attention back to their individual projects. We look forward to their progress seminars in mid-August. In addition to the two statistics workshops that will be provided to Honours students, I have recommended Creative Maths online for some simple explanations for common statistical tests.

< Looking back

We bid farewell to our Honours students that have recently finished and wish them well in their future endeavors. For those of you contemplating Higher Degree research remember to register for the upcoming Got Research on Your Radar? event, Wednesday 9 August.

Good stuff

Dr Luke Grundy has skillfully led another group of Honours students through the Research Grant Proposal assessment. The ability to write an excellent grant proposal is critically important to anyone wanting to pursue a research career. This assessment provides an opportunity for students to build skills in critical thinking, interpreting and synthesising information and written communication. These skills are not only important to researchers but are integral to success in many professions.
