Dr David Hunter has joined us from the philosophy department at the University of Birmingham in the UK as the new Associate Professor of Medical Ethics within the School of Medicine. Within the School he will lead and teach into the Ethics, Law and Professionalism strand in the MD as well as being involved with research ethics. Within Southgate he will lead the Ethics, Law and Equity research area. While his background is in political philosophy he has a long history of engagement with medical ethics and is particularly interested in research ethics, the ethics of regulation, public health ethics and the ethical issues raised by the distribution of health care resources.
