Goodbye (for now) Malmö!

Ahh Malmo… over five months since I’ve moved to this beautiful city, and it just under three weeks time, it’ll be time to say my goodbyes. From the endless bike rides no matter the weather, to the daily strolls to the fruit and veggie markets, the numerous plane rides, and of course the friends that become family- Malmö has definitely become my second home.

It has been such an eye-opening experience to have the opportunity to truly immerse myself in a schooling system, education and society like Sweden. It has been so interesting to see the different ways Sweden works compared to Australia. For such a small city, Malmö is full of diverse people from all around the world.

In the last five or so months, I have travelled, seen and done things I would have never imagined! I’ve travelled to ten different countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Norway and Romania. I’ve eaten macaroons and watched the sunset over the Eiffel Tower, booked plane tickets to a place I’d never heard of (Cluj, Romania), partied till the sunrise in Budapest, explored the Old Town in Prague, experienced all four seasons in just one day in Helsinki, and so so much more!

Looking back over the past year, I have gained far more experience and knowledge living abroad than I ever would have staying in Adelaide. Exchange is like nothing I had ever experienced, but so glad I did. For anyone considering studying abroad, DO IT! It’s the best thing you will ever do. But I’m not saying goodbye to Europe just yet! Once I finish my exchange at the end of the month, I will be back packing around Europe for the next four or so months!

So, until next time Malmö! See you in the near future Adelaide!
