Kindra from LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts, Singapore undertaking an exchange at Flinders University during Semester 1 2025.
Spending my time here in Adelaide has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It’s my first time here in Australia, and I am really excited about the opportunity to study overseas and explore a completely new environment. Being part of the exchange program here in Flinders University made my experience even more special. From the moment I arrived, I felt different, new sights, sounds and people. It was both exciting and a little nerve wracking at first, but I’m so happy that I took this step.
One of the best parts of this journey is the people that I’ve met in Flinders. I was lucky enough to make some great friends along the way. Despite being an exchange student for a semester, I was to help out with my friend’s group project which I volunteered to take part in their documentary. Those moments help me a lot to not just get to know people but the university as well.
Not just from the lectures itself that I learned so much but from the overall experience of being here in Flinders as an exchange student led me to live independently, time management and lastly stepping out of my comfort zone. This exchange has broadened my perspective not just in Flinders but also in Adelaide. It made me appreciate more on connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.
Apart from spending my time in Flinders, exploring Adelaide was also part of this exchange too! From visiting local towns to hiking around South Australia, every trip that I have been to was memorable. The friendly local, beautiful nature and vibrant campus life made my stay here so much more enjoyable.
I can’t wait for what comes next in the second half of this semester before I officially say goodbye to Flinders and Adelaide. Till then, I’m looking forward to creating more memories and making the most out of the remaining time I have.
With that being said, see you soon, Flinders!
Kindra was fortunate to be awarded a Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Program Scholarship to support her exchange experience.
