Thoughts on Malaysia Pre-depature

Hi I’m Aleksia, and I’m a 4th year biomedical engineering student.
It is amazing to think that our trip to Malaysia is just around the corner! I will be travelling as a part of the New Colombo Plan to UKM with 11 other students. I’m so grateful for such an amazing opportunity to travel as a part of my degree and experience Malaysia. I wasn’t expecting a trip like this to be acknowledged as a topic for my course but it’s awesome to travel and get credits. An opportunity like this will give me a learning experience beyond that of a normal classroom, hence why I was drawn to apply. I’m looking forward to increasing my global knowledge and experiences.

I’m incredibly excited to take part in all the wonderful things Malaysia has to offer. I can’t wait to visit cultural sites, experience amazing foods while creating new friendships and strengthening existing ones. I am open to this experience so I am looking forward to the many unique aspects of this trip.

I hope to gain some information about Malaysian culture and lifestyle as well as a new insight to information regarding my degree while comparing to Malaysian university life.
