Works around campus

Works on Yunggorendi Mande

Please be aware that building works will happen at Yunggorendi Mande this Saturday 18 September. This will involve cutting into the brickwork to create a new doorway on the south-eastern side of Level 1, and contractors will be present in and around the building.

There will be associated noise, vibration and some dust, though this should be minimal as plastic walls will be placed within the affected parts of the building. Please consider avoiding the building and surrounding area while these works are happening.

Oval irrigation works

A new irrigation system is being installed on the upper and lower ovals at the bottom of the campus until mid-to-late October. Due to trenching across the ovals, there will be regular disturbance to the surfaces and undulation as the turf resettles.

For safety reasons, please follow any directional signage placed at the sites and take an alternative route around the ovals during this time. Please note that the Pavilion sitting between these ovals is inaccessible.

Flinders sporting clubs can give you further information about any alternative arrangements in place. Following these works, the cricket pitch will be restored ahead of the summer season.

Tree pruning

Maintenance tree pruning is happening this Saturday 18 September from 8am to 4pm on trees near the following buildings:

  • Law & Commerce
  • Pendopo
  • Social Sciences North
  • Humanities

Please follow any directional signage in place if you’re moving through these areas during this time.

Library Plaza canopy walkway

There will be works until 1 October to install an access walkway and safety mesh on the library canopy roof adjacent to the plaza.

You may notice some noise from the site – we’ve scheduled works during the mid-semester teaching break to minimise the impact of this. Other study spaces will be available in Level 1 of the Hub.

Please make sure you follow instructions and any signage placed in the area for pedestrians.
