BGL Enrichment and Wellbeing Program 2023

Are you a BGL student who will be in second year or above in 2023? Do you have passion for your

studies and your discipline, and want to give back? Would you like to help first year students in your

discipline settle into their studies and get to know Flinders University and the College? We are looking for you! Join us as a Mentor in 2023.

  • Receive training about orientation and transition, university services, helping first year students
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Refine oral and written communication skills
  • Be given opportunities for casual work with the University/College
  • Meet like-minded individuals in the College and develop your networks

  • Support first year students through their university studies

What is the time commitment?

Approximately 40 hours across Semester 1, 2023. This includes:

  • Submitting your application in November 2022
  • Attending an interview in December 2022
  • Attending a 1-day training in February 2023
  • Reaching out to mentees in February 2023
  • Attending 1-day Orientation in O’Week, February 2023
  • Mentoring for 2-hours per week in Weeks 1-6
  • Mentoring 2-hours per fortnight in Weeks 7-12
  • Completing of reflection/evaluation tasks twice during the program
  • Attending at an end-of-program event
