At Flinders, we’re committed to supporting everyone to feel respected and included.

Building upon important work undertaken last year by the ‘Gender Diversity and Vocabulary Management’ project team, we are now very pleased to inform you that pronouns are now enabled in Microsoft Teams.

The way in which our University systems recognise pronouns across technology platforms is important in reflecting our diverse community. Available for all students, pronouns will be displayed in the contact details section of each person’s MS Teams profile.

 

What do you need to do?

Whether or not you choose to include your pronouns in Teams is entirely up to you.

Canvas will act as the source system to populate pronouns in Teams, and it is here that details will need to be updated.

Follow these instructions to select your pronouns from the defined list in Canvas, or simply leave it blank if you do not want pronouns displayed.

Once populated, your pronouns will flow through to MS Teams within 48 hours.
