The Advertiser: Coronavirus: Flinders University researchers launch world leading studies into death amid COVID-19. Caring Futures Institute Foundational Director Professor Alison Kitson and Professor Jennifer Tieman featured in an article in the Adelaide Advertiserin April about the Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying and how research will help us to better understand the physical and emotional toll the coronavirus places on dying patients and distressed loved ones. Read more

Caring Futures researcher Professor Sue Gordon’s research into pre-frailty was covered in The Daily Telegraph, The Mercury, Cairns Post, Geelong Advertiser, Weekly Times Now, Gold Coast Bulletin, NT News, Townsville Bulletin, Herald Sun and The Courier Mail. The study found that 45% of those aged 40 to 49 were showing signs of “pre-frailty”, about the same percentage as those aged 70 to 75.

The National Tribute: School holidays a chance to build resilience. Researcher Dr Yvonne Parry shared her advice on parents and carer givers using the April school holidays as a chance to build resilience in children. A story was shared in the National Tribune where Dr Parry advised parents to take time out with their kids to discuss fears and anxieties around COVID-19 and isolation. Read more
