Collaborate upgrades

Did you know that Collaborate is upgraded on a regular basis? Updates can involve minor fixes or major changes and are always designed to improve performance. Since COVID19, a lot of security fixes have been added and some functions have been upgraded to help with the extra usage. Whether you’re a regular or occasional user of Collaborate, it is useful to know what upgrades have happened, and what is in the pipeline.

Some of the upgrades that have happened over the past 12 months are:

  • Updated browser support – the most recent versions of Chrome or Firefox are supported (July 2020)
  • Session owners and admins can download recordings (June 2020)
  • Can now share an additional camera (June 2020)
  • Layout changes to the create and edit session functionality (June 2020)
  • Downloadable poll results (June 2020)
  • Additional security measures for Collaborate (guest link off as default) (May 2020)
  • Webinar mode now allows for 250+ attendees (April 2020)
  • Removal of the Timer function (March 2020)
  • New and improved emojis (October 2019)
  • Ability to share video from Chrome (October 2019)
  • Ability to share content to breakout groups and save breakout group files (Jul 2019)

Some of the updates that are coming:

  • Secure recording links (Aug 2020)
  • Profanity filter on chat (Aug 2020)
  • New whiteboard interface (TBD)
