Advance HE at Flinders

Did you know… Flinders University is now a member of Advance Higher Education (Advance HE) which provides us with some significant opportunities and access to many valuable resources to support our advances in learning and teaching.  Advance HE, while based in the UK, has members from around the globe including 28 Australian universities. There are currently over 140,000 Fellows across the world.

Advance HE provides a very broad range of resources on all aspects of higher education teaching, learning, education quality and student support which cater to all levels of expertise. The Advance HE Knowledge Hub contains over 8,000 searchable resources. This includes videos, written materials, workshops and access to focussed communities of practice which are freely available with our institutional membership. Membership also gives us access to the Connect Benefit Series, and discounted fees on a huge range of conferences, events and symposia.  To start your Advance HE journey go to their home page to explore the resources and set up your profile.  Follow the Login link at the top right of the page and select Flinders University from the dropdown menu.

Advance HE Fellowships
Advance HE also operates a Fellowship scheme which provides a framework for individuals to demonstrate excellence and commitment to high quality learning and teaching.  The Fellowship scheme is internationally benchmarked and recognised, and our own Academic promotion framework at Flinders has been aligned with this.

Staff (both Academic and those Professional staff who support Learning and Teaching) may apply for one of four Fellowship descriptions. As part of the University’s commitment to learning and teaching excellence, and to create a foundation team of staff who can mentor others in their Fellowship applications in the future, we are funding a scheme to support 15 staff in their Fellowship Application.  The support will cover the Advance HE application and assessment fee, as well as additional support and guidance from Advance HE to complete the portfolio required for submission.

CILT are excited to be involved in this Fellowship capacity building work and are holding the first Advance HE Fellowships information session on Monday 19 April in person and online. To register your interest in the session, please contact Anna Smith.

Expressions of Interest for the 15 supported places will be called shortly after the information session. In the meantime, bookmark this page.
