Student creation of video assessment pilot study

Do you include video assessments as part of your topic or course? Do you find that Kaltura does not provide the level of editing ability that your students need? We are conducting a pilot to explore student use of video editing software and as part of the pilot are offering the use of Camtasia video editing software for Flinders student home use.

If your students undertake video assessments as part of your topic or course, and the editing they need to do isn’t supported by Kaltura, then they may be eligible.

We are also interested in finding out more about how students and staff use video in learning and teaching and will send you and your students a short survey at the end of the pilot.

Camtasia is a software suite for creating video presentations directly via screen capture or Microsoft PowerPoint. Audio or other multimedia recordings may be recorded at the same time or added separately from another source. You can customise your video with popup text, fading of objects, blurring of details and lots of other things. Check out all the features at https://www.techsmith.com/video-editor.html.

To apply for access as part of the pilot please direct your students to https://students.flinders.edu.au/support/computing
