CMBD visits South Australian Museum for collaboration

Have you ever wondered what happens at the South Australian Museum behind their public exhibitions?

There is a team of experts in their fields, including research scientists, technical staff and research students who work on research initiatives and expand, document and preserve collections. They provide useful knowledge for clients, including a wide network of Australian universities, museums and international research groups, to contribute to diverse projects.

Professor Wei Zhang, Director of the Centre for Marine Bioproducts Development (CMBD), Flinders University, and Research Director for the Marine Bioproducts Cooperative Research Centre (MB-CRC), recently met with SA Museum’s Professor Steve Donnellan. Professor Zhang toured the SA Museum to view the behind-the-scenes collection of marine biology and to explore synergy and potential for collaboration between the MB-CRC and the SA Museum.

Professor Steve Donnellan is Head of Research and Collections and Chief Research Scientist of the Evolutionary Biology Unit. The unit discovers new species and uses genetics to understand the evolution of Australian animals and plants.
