Human Research Ethics application forms are now online, available for immediate use by researchers. Thanks to Hendryk Flaegel of RDS and Kirstin Matthews of DRS for their fantastic work in developing these.
ResearchNow Ethics & Biosafety is the new online platform for research ethics at Flinders University. It can be accessed via Okta by adding the ResearchNow Ethics & Biosafety icon to your Flinders (Okta) dashboard.
The system allows researchers to apply for human research ethics approval online. There are three forms available:
- HREC Application Form – for all new research projects requiring ethics approval
- HREC Cross-Institutional Approval Form – for all research projects approved by an external Human Research Ethics Committee
- HREC Project Transfer Form – for all current projects approved under the old system that do not expire on/or before 31 December 2020. These projects need to be transferred into the new system.

Training is being arranged, and will be announced through the usual channels, including the Inspiring Research newsletter.
Biosafety forms are currently being tested and will also be available to the research community soon.
