Making a video? Mobile tripods now available from the Library!

Staff and students creating videos in their topics; you requested access to mobile-device compatible tripods for a smoother filming experience. We heard you! Digital Student and Teaching Services are partnering with the Library to announce that flexi-tripods for smartphones are now available for loan from the Central, Sturt and Medical libraries.

Where and how to loan

There are 10 flexi-tripods available for short-term loan. Four are located at the Central library, three at Sturt Library, and three at the Medical Library. For more details, including requesting to borrow, you’ll find the tripods catalogued here, or just search find it@Flinders for “smartphone tripod”. You can also ask about borrowing the tripods at the Library Info Desk.

How they work

The tripods include an adjustable clamp that fits most standard smartphones (please note, they are not large enough for tablets/iPads). The tripod can easily be adjusted for use on a desk/tabletop, and the flexible legs also allow for attachment to non-flat surfaces.

Happy filming! And, if you’re going to be uploading your video to FLO, check out the support resources to help with editing, uploading, and more.
