Shanghai based Mr Junling Liu, CEO and Co-Founder of YiHaoDian, China’s largest on-line retailer has received the Austrade Australia China Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship.
Junling graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Teaching (1992) and a Master of International Business Administration (1998). He is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Chinese online supermarket YiHaoDian, which began in 2008, and has become an exemplar for on-line retailing. In YiHaoDian’s first year of operation the companies sales amassed to RMB 4.17M, and which in the few years to 2011 had grown to RMB 2.72B.
YiHaoDian has since received capital investment from global retailing giant Walmart and is the subject of a case study course in Wharton’s MBA program. In November 2011, Deloitte recognised YiHaoDian as the fastest growing company in the Asia Pacific Region.
Before co-founding YiHaoDian, Junling was Co-President of Dell China and Hong Kong, and has also held senior management positions with Avaya China, Avaya Asia Pacific and Lucent Technologies.
In 2006, he was named as one of the “Top 10 Financial Figures of the Year in China’s IT Industry”, and in 2007, one of the “Top 10 Figures of the Year in the Computer World”.
Prior to returning to China, Junling taught at Cleve Area School on Eyre Peninsula and at St Peter’s College in Adelaide.
