U3A Flinders Inc

In 1991, Flinders University decided to commit resources to help set up a U3A group to mark their Silver Jubilee.
U3A Flinders is fortunate to be sponsored by Flinders University who generously provide an office on campus and yearly grant to enable these programs to be provided at minimal cost to members. Many current and past academics from Flinders University have offered programs to our group. Our membership is approximately 220. Most of our lectures are one-off and we have small interest groups for walking, book appreciation, armchair travel, writers, and news discussion.

All who have a desire to learn, no matter what age are welcome to attend. There is no entrance exam or test and no awards are given.

University of the Third Age began in Toulouse, France and has spread around the world. Each U3A is independent, but all provide educational and informative programs mainly for people in their third age i.e. after childhood and working ages.

More information is available from our office (open Monday to Wednesday, 9-30am to 12-30pm) Room 242, Information Technology Building, Ph 8201 3068, email u3a@flinders.edu.au, or web.
