Message from Professor Paul Worley, Dean – School of Medicine, Flinders University

Worley Paul Prof 04

Flinders University was “founded with a vision that made experimentation and innovation central to its character…” (Vice-Chancellor, Professor Colin Stirling).

In this, our 50th anniversary year, it is fitting that we should honour those who have contributed in large measure to the fulfilment of that vision – our alumni. The School of Medicine at Flinders University has a fine tradition of producing outstanding graduates who go on to share with the world their passion and their professionalism in countless ways that are making a difference to the lives of so many.

Whether in clinical practice, in research, or in other fields, each of you is now an ambassador for your alma mater. You are making a difference and we are proud of you and your achievements.

I invite you to reconnect with your peers to mark the University’s Golden Jubilee year at a special alumni dinner we are holding at the Adelaide Town Hall on Friday 11 November 2016, exclusively for our Flinders medical alumni.

Come and share the stories of your lives, reminisce with your fellow graduates and the staff who taught you, about where you have been and what you have done, whether it’s just one year ago or many years in the past. Come and hear about our exciting plans for the medical course going forward.  Ensure your contact details are up to date to hear more about the event and news from the School of Medicine.

I am delighted to welcome you back for this grand occasion, which will no doubt be a night to remember. Confirmed attendees include Chris Baggoley and Marcello Costa, along with a host of past and present deans and significant alumni and staff from the life of the school. Formal invitations will follow in the coming weeks, but to register your interest (single, couple, or table) or for further information please contact Arndrae Luks.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Professor Paul Worley (PhD(Med) ’03)
Dean, School of Medicine
