While working in Darwin I came across the most compassionate, empathetic and knowledgeable nurse working in a chemotherapy suite. This nurse trained me in a completely new skill set with unbelievable patience and willingness to share her knowledge.

We can sometimes forget the impact we have not only on our patients but also on our fellow nurses.

Showing kindness and compassion to all is what we should strive to achieve and this nurse displayed this day in day out.

We all have different experiences and skill sets, so I believe it is important to respect one another, and share our knowledge to enable greater care for the patient and greater competence and confidence in our fellow nurses.

Each day there is always something new to learn.

If you are in a position on to share your knowledge with someone, do it! We need to build each other up. Knowledge is power after all!
