Dr Renee Smith tells us “we have been involved in several cancer-related projects over the past year. Most of our projects have involved identifying changes in the levels of microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs and protein-coding gene transcripts. Understanding how gene activity changes in tumours, especially how cancer cells respond to various treatments, will form the basis for identifying new biomarkers, novel drug discovery and precision medicine. We are proud to have been involved in several such projects covering diseases such as gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer and mesothelioma.”
