Call for Research Projects for Advanced Studies MD program

The Flinders Doctor of Medicine (MD) program has been implementing Advanced Studies (AS), a research/ scholarship theme across all four years of the medical course progressively.

The aim of Advanced Studies is to ensure that Flinders MD graduates remain competitive in an increasingly difficult job market where internships cannot be guaranteed. We hope that students who undertake a portfolio of work in a specialized area of research or clinical practice as part of Advanced Studies will have an advantage when applying for internships and postgraduate positions, as they will be able to demonstrate a commitment to a specialised area including academic clinical medicine from an early stage. Click here for further explanation of Advanced Studies in each year of the MD program, research expectations, supervisory responsibilities and other important information.

We are now calling for projects to offer the MD cohort who will begin their research in 2019.

You and your colleagues can either offer a research project (or multiple projects) or can be listed as potential supervisors to develop a research project in conjunction with an MD student or students. You are invited to submit your research project details, click here for application form. Applications close June 1, 2018.

To discuss potential research projects contact Hakan Muyderman, Advanced Studies Topic Coordinator hakan.muyderman@flinders.edu.au or 0452 1999 65
