Thanks to the support of their generous donors, Flinders Foundation will provide funding to a Flinders research group leader to support a postdoctoral research fellowship in Brain Cancer. This will be a Research only Level A or B position for 3 years.
While there have been significant improvements in treatment, patient outcomes and quality of life for many other cancers, similar improvements have not yet been realised in brain cancers. The aim of this funding is to support an innovative approach to these diseases. Applications that build broader collaborations and/or use the SA Neurological Tumour Bank are encouraged.
Expressions of interest are now open to Flinders research group leaders working in brain cancer research, or a related area applicable to brain cancer research. To apply, please provide:
- A 2-page project outline that includes the significance and innovation the project brings to the field and the expected outcomes.
- An outline of the environment in which the fellow will work, including mentorship and plans for career development. (Less than 500 words).
- 2-page track record of the applicant (group leader)
Expressions of interest will be assessed based on:
Scientific Excellence (40%)
Innovation (20%)
Applicant Track Record (20%)
Expected Outcomes (10%)
Relevance to activities of the SA Neurological Tumour Bank (10%)
Closing date for applications: 17 December 2019
