The Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation invites expressions of interest for its early-career grants. These support community-based studies, clinical studies, or basic science projects with a focus on children’s health, education and welfare. Applications with an emphasis on the child protection, children’s mental health, childhood obesity and understanding the impacts that social determinants have on children’s health and development will be prioritised.

Applications are invited from applicants who are affiliated with a university, research institute, health service or other organisation in South Australia and belong to the following groups:

•medical applicants who are undertaking a PhD or MD;

•non-medical applicants who have an honours, master’s or are undertaking a PhD degree;

•applicants who have held their PhD for no more than five years and may be employed as a National Health and Medical Research Council postdoctoral fellow;

•applicants who have not previously been the chief investigator of a significant peer-reviewed grant application for organisations such as the NHMRC, Australian Research Council, Children’s Research Foundation, Cancer Council Australia or the like.

Grants are worth up to AUD 40,000 each over one or two years.
