Similar to last years’ arrangements, a bulk purchase of the statistical package Stata Type SE (Academic version with pdf documentation) is being organised. Because of already confirmed number of licences to be purchased, the cost of a Single-user Stata TYPE SE 13 perpetual licence is now $316 (includes 10% GST), instead of $1102 if purchased independently by a single user.

While there are no plans to make changes to the current arrangements of the site licence for the SPSS, access to another comprehensive and cost effective statistical package may encourage some researchers to explore the capabilities of the Stata package (http://www.stata.com/capabilities/).
