Cycling for Culture

Cycling for Culture is a unique blend of cycling, Aboriginal cultural experience and fundraising. The event, being held for the first time in 2013, is a three-day ride through Kaurna Country or, in Kaurna language, “Maityuwampidlu Kaurna yarta-arra”.

Riders are raising funds to support the development of the Kaurna language. Money raised through this event will assist in developing resources and training Kaurna language teachers so that future generations are able to learn their language as an important part of their culture.

Please browse the website for more information on the event and the people involved including AFL Footballers Gavin Wanganeen, Che Cockatoo-Collins, Byron Pickett and Tour de France rider Pat Jonker. You might also be interested to learn a few things about Kaurna culture, join the Deadly Mob riding group or get involved as a donor or volunteer.
