Works start for ICT upgrade

Civil works (including digging and drilling) and technical works to upgrade campus-wide underground communications conduits will commence later this week.

As these necessary works take place in the middle of our campuses, we ask that you please excuse  noise and disruption while the projects are completed.

  • Stage 1: October 24 to November 15

Stage 1 will take place over the next three weeks (weekdays and weekends), commencing later this week, possibly causing minor disruptions to car park access. There may also be construction noise during this period.

Planned civil works on the verge of Physical Sciences Road will disrupt access to Car Parks 15 and 15A from the Ring Road.

We will also be working inside and around Buildings 35, 48 and 51 and ITS Technicians will be running cables from outside, through walls and ceilings, connecting to communications boards in these buildings.

The works have been programmed during the next three weeks and briefings are being rolled out this week for affected staff.

Works on the verge of Ring Road in the North Ridge Precinct will mean that access to Car Park 2 from Ring Road will be disrupted. To minimise the impact, works have been programmed for weekends over the next three weeks.

Temporary directional signage will be erected by our contractor TPC, redirecting staff and students to alternative car park access.

Further updates will appear in FIT during coming weeks.
