Their Shadows in Us at Flinders City Gallery

The Art Museum is now hosting Their Shadows in Us until February 16 at the Flinders University City Gallery, located in the State Library of South Australia.

Initiated by Tutti Founder and Artistic Director Pat Rix, and curated by Melanie Fulton, Their Shadows in Us is a unique and important exhibition exploring the past 100 years  of Minda’s social history. It has been undertaken by Tutti Visual Artists in collaboration with emerging and professional award winning artists, including Laura Wills, Nina Rupena, Madison Bycroft and Sascha Budimski.

The multi-arts exhibition interprets a large collected body of archival research, interviews, imagery and objects. It presents layered information and sensory experiences through collaborative art-making processes. Their Shadows in Us celebrates the creative partnership between Tutti and Minda, and the achievements and growth of both organisations. It is an exciting project in which the Tutti Visual and Performing Artists have claimed their heritage as young adults living with intellectual disability, and as contemporary practising artists.

The City Gallery shop (co-located with the Gallery) offers original art and craft, giftware and books sourced from Aboriginal communities and ethical, collaborative enterprises. This includes paintings, prints, sculpture, jewellery and basketry by emerging and established artists and unique, high-quality giftware. Fine art cards can also be found, along with a wide selection of children’s books, as well as FUAM exhibition catalogues.

All staff members are entitled to a 10 per cent discount on purchases on presentation of their staff card.

Gallery hours: Tuesday – Friday 11am – 4pm; Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 4pm. Free entry.
