Study seeks family and carers of hospital patients

Researchers at Flinders University are seeking past patients or family members and carers of people who have been in hospital, and invite you to participate in a study.

The study is about being involved in recognising patient deterioration and triggering attention for your loved one through the hospital’s medical emergency team. In this study we will be exploring ways in which previous patients, carers or family members of patients would like to be informed about how to gain rapid attention for a patient who is showing signs of clinical deterioration.

The research involves participation in an audio-recorded focus group of approximately 60 minutes duration. All personal details will be confidential and participants will be reimbursed $30 for their time.

The focus groups are due to commence in June 2014 with multiple dates and times available and locations across the metropolitan area.
