Flinders puts on a winter welcome for IAP students

IAPAustralia Awards students participating in the Introductory Academic Program (IAP) are enjoying their time on campus.

Arriving last month, the students were initiated to the University with a special IAP dinner, which provided an opportunity for the cohort to get know each other and to share food, music and elements of their culture. The students produced a feast of regional specialties from Indonesia, Vietnam, Fiji and Papua New Guinea supplemented with music and dance.

Transition Office Director Associate Professor Salah Kutieleh says while the IAP is predominantly an academic transition program, “at its heart is the ethos of cultural exchange and the shifting of barriers”.

“It is always immensely satisfying to see that interchange unfold in front of you and know that here is yet another successful program,” Associate Professor Kutieleh says.

The Semester 2 IAP runs until July 18.
