Farewell to Peter Michell, actor and Flinders graduate

PMAdelaide’s arts and entertainment community was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of actor, singer, television presenter and Flinders drama graduate Peter Michell on July 24, aged 43.

After graduating from Flinders in 2000, Peter became a familiar face to many South Australians through numerous theatre, television and film acting roles, before going on to become even more widely known as host and presenter of several television lifestyle programs, including SA Life, Discovery and The Book Place.

His most recent acting role was in the crime thriller feature film John Faust, which is still in production.

In a written tribute, Adelaide performer and former fellow student Catherine Campbell wrote of the “1000-watt twinkle” in Peter’s eye, his innate sense of musicality, and his ability to transform on stage.

“The world has lost an extraordinary human being, and the arts have lost a rare talent,” she said.
