Flinders on show at Marion Learning Festival

MarionFlinders University’s Medical Device Research Institute and the Centre for Nanoscale Science and Technology will be moving to Tonsley in early 2015.

To showcase Flinders’ work in the areas of medical devices and nanoscale technology, the University is presenting a series of FREE workshops and open lectures, in conjunction with the City of Marion’s 2014 Marion Learning Festival program. These include two events at Tonsley TAFE :

Medical Devices – Machines that go ‘Ping’! with Professor Karen Reynolds on Friday 29 August, 3pm to 4pm. South Australian Scientist of the Year, Professor Karen Reynolds, will describe some of the biomedical engineering research in South Australia and talk about her experiences developing devices that improve medical practice and health care.

The BIG Impact of Tiny Science: Nanotech Panel on Friday 29 August, 4.30 to 5pm. Researchers from Flinders’ Nano Centre will discuss what nanotechnology is and how can it affect us in everyday life.

Staff are encouraged to let their families and friends know about the Flinders involvement in the event.
