Faye Rosas Blanch, Dr Natalie Harkin, Associate Professor Simone Ulalka Tur and Dr Ali Gumillya Baker (The Unbound Collective) are set to perform their Sovereign Acts II (2015) at the Museum of Contemporary Art in NSW as part of the National 2019: New Australian Art.

Beginning with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, The Unbound Collective will move through spaces that have historically seen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians excluded and reduced.

Poetry, prose and images will be projected into spaces containing colonial artworks and original songs will be performed in a call-and-response style enactment, at a performance on Friday 29 March 2019.

Skirts worn by the Unbound Collective will be on display at the Museum of Contemporary art from Monday 1 April until the end of the exhibition.

The National: New Australian Art is a six-year initiative presenting the latest ideas and forms in contemporary Australian art over three editions in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
